Here's a checklist of things to bring on your next jewelry trade or craft show.

Going to craft shows is part of owning a jewelry shop. Aside from being able to network with like-minded people and showcase your products, it's also a fun event for you and your staff. And just like with any trip, you should be able to bring all the things you need.

Today, we created a checklist for you in case you get invited to another craft or trade show this month. We came up with five categories of things to bring and will discuss each of them.

1. Jewelry Display

Of course, you cannot attend a craft show without your jewelry displays! Make sure you bring all of them -- your necklace display, ring, bracelet, and earring displays. And it's best if you use those that can hold multiple pieces. We also recommend using the easel ones because they are space-saving, easy to install and store, and are lightweight.

Aside from that, you also need the following in your booth display:

  • Riser displays for highlighting special items
  • Mirrors so customers can check out the jewelry on them
  • Price tags, of course!
  • Business card holder and business cards
  • Banner or sign carrying your shop's name
  • Table cloth if necessary
  • Decors and props

2. Packaging

Packaging materials should also be on your list, and they should carry your shop's logo and contact information. These materials should include the following:

  • Gift bags
  • Ribbons
  • Pouches
  • Jewelry boxes
  • Ziplock bags

3. Tools and equipment

This category is also as important as the two. These things are essential in case of emergencies and to keep everything organized. This should include the following:

  • Inventory list to keep track of your jewelry pieces
  • Receipt book
  • Calculator
  • Extension cords in case you need to charge your phone or laptop
  • Lights
  • Cash register or a cash box
  • Scissors, cutters, and pliers
  • Sticky tape
  • Pens
  • Safety pins
  • Stapler

4. Cleaning materials

A good display is one that looks clean and uncluttered! So do not forget to bring along your cleaning tools and materials:

  • Garbage bags so your trash won't be lying around for everyone to see
  • Paper towels in case of spills
  • Microfiber or lint-free cloth for cleaning surfaces
  • Brush or feather duster
  • Hand sanitizer or alcohol for personal hygiene

  • 5. Personal items

Personal items should include stuff that you and your staff need to get through the day. Aside from food and water, you should also bring the following:

  • Extra clothes in case it gets warm
  • Sweater or hoodie in case the AC gets too cold!
  • Chairs or stools to rest those legs
